THE BRAND NEW AUTUMN/WINTER SURFERS AGAINST SEWAGE GEAR IS HERE!
The cool new SAS Autumn/Winter Collection has arrived and you'll be sure to
look hot this winter in our vintage inspired organic menswear and new look
women's gear. You'll see the classic original SAS Eye has made a comeback
and we've got some lush t-shirt & hoody colours for the ladies, which is a
bit of a first in organic cotton!
As usual, we kept the carbon footprint of our catalogue shoot to a minimum,
making the most of the natural beauty and resources that Cornwall have to
offer. Delabole Wind Farm was a stunning location, allowing us to highlight
our climate change campaign (thanks to Good Energy).
The implications of climate change for recreational water users are huge,
with predicted higher rainfall during winter causing increased flows at
sewage treatment works and more discharges of untreated sewage through storm
sewer overflows. This could lead to an increase in pollution incidents &
illness from sewage contaminated water. This is why SAS are campaigning for
investment in carbon-free renewable energy technologies, such as wind, wave
and tidal energy.
We've sourced some fab new eco-accessories too. Our Fair Trade hemp belt,
is hand made by Mama Ursula, who lives in a shanty town in Peru but manages
to makes a sustainable living by making these belts. We also have cool-as
SAS pin badges, made from recycled card and hand printed in the UK and a
brand new design of envelope reuse labels, now printed on 100% post consumer
waste recycled paper.
Other recycled accessories include a tide clock, wax comb and wine glasses,
all of which make perfect gifts! Or just treat yourself! Don't forget
every purchase is a fundraiser for the SAS campaign, so it's win-win - you
get cool stuff and we get to keep the campaign afloat!
There are lots of other environmentally friendly, organic and fair trade
items available through the SAS web shop at www.sas.org.uk
